125,000 sf renovation | 25,000 sf expansion
In collaboration with Smith Group
George Washington University, located in the historic district of Washington, DC, renovated and constructed a new addition to the existing University Union. The center now features new ballrooms, a multi-purpose student recreation area, food facilities, student organization space, a conference center and retail stores. The modern Marvin Center has become the hub of campus life. Kevin Hom Architect completed programming, schematic design and design development. A unique challenge was addressing the building’s operation of high capacity during the construction phase.
