The new Westside Campus Center houses a 500-seat auditorium/theater, cafeteria and dining area, a game room/pub, fitness center, multi-purpose meeting and conference rooms, student activity space, lounge areas, and related campus-life and student-life facilities, business center and administrative offices. The 500-seat multi-purpose room is based on an open flexible concept that maximizes the dual use of the space as a lecture hall as well as a performance space, which opens up to an exterior stage. The challenges faced on this project included developing the gateway building to the developing campus, designing the facility to serve the needs of non-traditional activities for the students, and designing a building that would tie the Midtown and Westside campuses.
